Deaton Springs Enclosure and Water Conservation Project

Project Location: Polk County, GA

Initial Bid Amount: $1,261,875

Description: The scope of the project was constructing an enclosure and building around one of the highest flowing fresh water springs (12mgd) in Georgia without interruption of the water flow or quality.  This requirement was essential to allow continue water production for Polk County Water Authority. Work was completed without a single interruption to plant operations.  The project location had very strict access conditions due to being adjacent a trout stream.  Also unknown underground caverns required extensive testing and care to not disturbed existing conditions. Due to these conditions extensive field concrete structure modifications will developed on the fly as work progressed.  All the above conditions required unique formwork application both underwater and adjacent the stream to complete this project
